Système International d’Unités or International System of Units is a international decimal system of weights and measures derived from and an extension of the metric system of units. The SI unit is widely used system of measurement but why it is used? SI was founded in 1960 by the 11th Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM, Conférence Générale des Poids et Mesures). CGPM is an international authority that regulates and improves the International System of Units Before, people have many varieties of measuring something. Quantity or Quality?

Definitely we all want quality over quantity, we want the features of an item like the texture, detail, and materials that was used to create it. For example we want a branded item rather than buying ten unbranded item in the same amount of price. In research, both quantity and quality is important. Quantitative research gives us numerical data, they are very good at conveying a concise summary of a lot of things. But of course there is a downfall in quantitative research, it is not enough to solve problems especially when we are dealing with societal problems. “Statistics can give you an overview of what is happening, but they can’t tell you why.
